Summary

Plentific manages the full lifecycle of maintenance and property operations — including work-order management, repairs and maintenance, inspections, compliance tracking, contractor sourcing via a vetted marketplace, invoicing, and communication with tenants — all in real time.

I’ve had the opportunity to design several AI-powered features that strengthened key flows across the Plentific product suite. These features included helping users craft clearer messaging, to improving repair reporting accuracy, to enabling quick understanding of complex cases through AI-generated summaries. Working across these initiatives has allowed me to explore how AI can be meaningfully integrated into real workflows, always with a focus on solving genuine user problems rather than adding technology for its own sake.

When property managers are responsible for looking after multiple repair cases and locations, our AI-powered summarisation tool helps them to context switch faster by extracting the important details such as root causes, repair steps and outcomes, and presenting a structured summary without managers needing to sift through lengthy correspondence and documentation.

Managers can grasp complex cases at a glance, reduce time spent reading, and make more confident decisions. This also improves team alignment, supports training, and ensures that crucial information is never overlooked, ultimately leading to more efficient repair workflows and better knowledge sharing across the organisation.

Communicate with confidence with our AI writing assistant. With an intuitive interface and real-time suggestions, property managers and contractors can quickly transform rough drafts into polished messages. The writing assistant helps users to refine their text by offering options to elaborate on ideas, simplify complex phrasing, and adjust tone – from professional and formal to friendly and casual.

Clearer fault diagnosis with AI suggestions

Integrated directly into the Report a Repair flow, our AI suggestions feature reviews fault descriptions and identifies missing or unclear details such as measurements, appliance model names, specific symptoms, or contextual factors. Its tailored suggestions help reporters clarify their descriptions, improving the accuracy and completeness of repair requests.

By guiding users to provide richer, more structured information, contractors can assess and diagnose issues more confidently with fewer follow-up questions. This process significantly speeds up decision-making, helping to reduce the time from report to repair and ultimately, delivering a smoother experience for residents, property managers and contractors.

Learnings

In a world where companies are scrambling to inject as much AI as possible into their offerings, I found the most effective approach is to deeply understand what AI can offer, understand our users’  pain points, and pinpoint the gaps where AI can truly elevate the experience. This process strengthened my ability to evaluate AI opportunities strategically, ensuring each feature is purposeful, user-centred, and delivers authentic value rather than novelty.
